Sony Xperia J1 Compact

While Sony is playing the waiting game before launching the Xperia Z4 flagship, the company did announced the Xperia J1 Compact last week. The handset seems to be a Japan exclusive, but we hope one day Sony will decide to bring its solid specs and dinky size to other shores.

Nexus 5 Receiving Android 5.1 Now

The recently discontinued Nexus 5 may not be available to buy anymore, but Google is not abandoning the device and will continue to update it to the newest versions of Android for a long time yet. In fact, the smartphone will always be among the first to get new Android builds, so it comes as no surprise that the Nexus 5 is now receiving an over-the-air update to Android 5.1.

HTC One M9 is not desirable to One M8 Owners

Something that was plainly clear when HTC launched the One M9 last month that the handset was very similar to the HTC One M8 that it followed. With such similarities it was reasonable to think that many people may not see the need in upgrading to the One M9 if they are already rocking the older flagship. That seems to be the case according to CompareMyMobile, a British company specializing in smartphone trade-ins.

Sony Cosmos Sefie Smartphone Leak

We've been hearing about a new Sony smartphone recently that will apparently play to the selfie crowd, called the Sony Cosmos. This handset will be a replacement for the Xperia C3, a device that also comes with an above averages front facing camera. Today, there is a fresh image of the Cosmos and the front camera module is clear to see.

LG G4 Will Not Be Metal, But Who Cares?

It seems that metal is the material of choice for manufacturers wanting a premium looking (and feeling) smartphone, but what about good old plastic? Samsung was often derided for using plastic on its flagships when the likes of Apple and HTC were using metal. Now, most manufactures, Samsung included are building their high end smartphones from metal, but there are a few hold outs still sticking to plastic.

Lenovo Launches K3 Note

Lenovo has released a new smartphone in China today called the Lenovo K3 Note and it will compete with the likes of Xiaomi at and Meizu in the mega-affordable smartphone market. The handset comes with a price tag of just $145, although it is likely to be exclusive to China or other emerging markets.
