Pebble cuts prices of smartwatches by $50

When the Pebble smartwatch launched it was one of the only devices of its kind in town, and it was quickly on its way to record breaking Kickstarter backing. However, the smartwatch world has got a lot more crowded of late with most major mobile brands throwing their weight into the wearable market. Pebble's little unit seems a little archaic next to those new machines, even if the rivals are hardly functional powerhouses themselves. The company's response has been to slash the prices of its devices while also adding a new update.

Forget about all this talk of Windows 9, Microsoft chose an intimate event today to unleash the newest version of its desktop platform, Windows 10. Yes, the company chose to skip a number, but this is the brand new version that the company hopes will not only carry its computing to the next level, but also its mobile devices such as Lumia smartphones and Surface tablets.

Blackberry working on a new smartphone for MWC in 2015 says CEO

Blackberry is understandably delighted with the early success of the new Passport smartphone. Not only has the handset been greeted with critical acclaim, it also shifted over 200,000 units during its first day on release. It is now being reported that the company is already working on a sequel to the Passport and we could see the handset as soon as the Mobile Word Conference (MWC) early in 2015.

Microsoft and Xiaomi hold meeting... a Windows Phone on the way?

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has held a recent meeting with the CEO of Chinese brand Xiaomi, Lei Jun, about the possibility of the company building a Windows Phone device. The meeting was held last week and while no details of the chat have been revealed, reports are pointing towards the two bosses discussing a Xiaomi Windows smartphone.

iPhone 6 to arrive in China on October 10th

Apple launched the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus around the world over the last two weeks and "Bendgate" aside the smartphone has been a huge success. The handset shifted 10 million units in three days, a record amount, but that number could have been higher. Apple would have ideally liked to have launched the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in China too, but the country put a halt to its release until it passed regulatory approval.

Windows Phone 8.1 adopted by 50% of all users

We have seen recently that Apple iOS 8 is seeing some solid adoption rates and will likely encompass most iOS device users by the end of the year. We have also seen how Google's Android 4.4 KitKat is making its presence felt, with over 25% of all Android users adopting the software. Here's a detailed look at the Nexus 6

There is little doubt that Google's latest Nexus products are imminent. The number of leaks of the Nexus 6 smartphone point to the rumoured October 16th launch date being at least in the ball park. We have previously seen some mock ups of the Motorola built device, a leaked production model, and of course plenty of stories about specs.
